THEY LIVE! is probably one of the coolest movies I've ever seen.

First of all, it stars WWF's (that is, World Wrestling Federation) legendary super-star Roddy Piper, that's right, Roddy Piper


that's right, ROWDY RODDY PIPER!!!!


who just so happens to sound like and beat as much ass as Bruce Campbell.

His co-star is Keith David. Yall may know Keith David as "Ohh that guy from that action movie with the awesome voice!" (I had a sound clip but it embedded all annoying so I left it out) or "The guy who runs the ass-to-ass factory on Requiem for a Dream" or maybe even for voice overs on Halo 2. either way... you can't top Roddy Piper but Jon Carpenter just got closer than fuck.



Second, Jon Carpenter somehow made this bluesy suspenseful minimalist music that fit the movie so well its unreal. I think so anyway, but I always love the music he makes for his films.

I don't want to say any more. There's a shit ton of reasons to go see this movie, and I've given yall only three. I left out a whole lot of awesomeness so go experience it first hand.

is a movie about surfing bank robbers and the FBI and gary busey's in it and keanu reeves jumps out of an airplane with out a parachute and after him and patrick swayze get really close to the ground before pulling their chute swayze's character "Bodhi" (which is short for Bodhisattva, no lie thats what that bitch with the short black hair says) yells "YOU ARE ONE RADICAL SON OF A BITCH" everything about this movie is cool and i've been sayin it for years and i won't stop until gary busey puts a gun in my face and says "Speak into the microphone SQUIDBRAIN!"



in fact i would probably make my whole blog about point break if it wasnt for rob zombie and desperado and con air and the die hard series and the lethal weapon series and all jon carpenters movies and the patriot and gg allin and YOUNG JEEZY

and slayer and pantera and some more stuff. lil boosie.

Tuff City Records

I got this record Spoonie Gee's The Godfather of Rap. I'd never heard of him before but its sick as hell. It's Grandmaster Flash status if you ask me.

Either way he's on this label Tuff City Records. yall should check it out... they started out as one of the first independent record labels in rap and now they do reissues of vinyl and cassettes and shit. www.tuffcity.com

DEAD OR ALIVE

I dunno if yall've seen this before or any Miike for that matter but if you like explosions and fight sequences and all other sorts of brutal disturbing asian awesomeness then you should watch as many of his movies as you can. fuck old boy this shit is so much better. Here's the trailer

I also just watched Dead or Alive FINAL which was more of a sci fi movie and epic in a different way... but don't worry its still Miike and it still rules.
